Open Fair Photography and Art Show

                                                              ​                            Open Fair Photography and Art Show:  Amateurs Only 
                                                              Entries must be placed in the fairʼs Exhibit Barn from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday
                                                                       and must remain in place until the close of the fair on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. 

     • Art: paint, pencil, pen, crayon, ink, and charcoal.   
     • Photos: color or black and white.  Black and white must be on semi-gloss or other nonreflective surface.  Glossy is permitted on color.   
     • Developing and printing may be done by the contestant or outside photo finisher. 
     • Photography should be displayed with a border mat and/or framed.  A protective covering is recommended to avoid fingerprints.  A device for
        hanging must be securely attached to each picture.  Photographs should be no smaller than 5x7, not including mat.   
     • Photographs will be judged on composition, technical excellence, creativity, difficulty, and how well the photograph fits the category and how
       well the subject fits the format chosen.   

Class in both divisions:   
1. People – people, not their surroundings, should dominate the photograph.   
2. Portrait – certain prominence should be given to the face(s).   
3. Landscape – Land should dominate, although a small amount of water may be present. 
4. Waterscape – water should be the main subject of picture – rivers, lakes, seascapes, waterfalls, etc.   
5. Abstract – form, pattern or design should be main subject, not object(s) photographed.   
6. Nature – photographs of the natural world with plant(s) or animal(s) being main subject.   
7. Miscellaneous Animals – pets, zoo animals, and farm animals photographed so that animals dominate the picture.   
8. Architecture or Formal Garden – should be the main subject, not landscape.   
9. Still Life – should be arranged by the photographer.   
10. Action – must show movement.   
11. Fair- photo or art of the fair.   

(Ribbons will be awarded to each entry; special ribbons will be awarded for outstanding entries).
